There have been monumental times in my career when I knew that a session was going to change me forever. When I decided to start photography as a business I wrote my friends in town and asked them if they would be guinea pigs. I had some very brave soles that trusted me with their children and believed in my abilities even before I believed in myself. I was so green and so new and each session I did something I had never done before. It was the best thing I could have done. Catherine and Will's mom was one of the first people to contact me. I pulled out a black drape that my husband gave me while I was in school for photography, but had never used it before. I sat Catherine in the chair and the first picture I captured changed my career. I then became the photographer that took the "girl in the chair" picture. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having faith in me before I did.
So, it has been a year since that first session and I was able to photograph these two beautiful children again. Here are some pictures from the first session and our latest session. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
